Is it considered insomnia if you sleep during the day?

btownsbabyblueangel asked:

no matter how tired i am, i sleep during the day rather than at night. I dont get a good “nights” sleep if i try to sleep at night. i get more than enough sleep during the day, but i would just rather sleep in the daytime rather than at night…is that considered insomnia? and even if i do go to bed at night and try to get up “early” and get my nights and days back on track, i cant. I am a homemaker, so i dont have to be anywhere during the day. i have always prefered sleeping during the day and staying up all night. is there something wrong with me?

How long do you recommend a nap should be after 3 hours of sleep, without causing insomnia later at night?

Okole asked:

I got 3 hours of sleep last night. I feel awake right now but I’m sure I will be dead tired in less than a couple hours. Should I force myself to stay awake (if I can) or nap? How long do should I nap for? 10,15,30, or 60 minutes? I want to go to bed 8 hours from now. I’m not addicted to caffeine. Tips please. Thanks a lot.

Can you think of any songs about insomnia or simply not being able to sleep?

Meri asked:

I am trying to put together a mix CD about insomnia and/or not being able to sleep for my Mom, who is suffering from trauma induced insomnia. I am looking for pretty much any genre of music, although she’s a baby boomer, so she’s not much of a death metal gal, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for your help!
